I needed a way to ensure my 65" Sony Bravio TV is off at night via my HomeSeer. This plugin works perfectly with HomeSeer and my Sony.
I bought this plugin because I wanted to have status and control over my Sony A80J. Granted you can use infrared t turn it on, to turn it off, turn up or down the volume, etc but what you will not have is you use IR protocol is status.
Now I can happily know if the tv is ON or if the volume level is the right one, etc.
This plugin works great and right out of the box and provided all the functionalities I was looking for.
Works very well. Simple to configure as long as your TV IP address doesn’t change often.
The PI was easy to install and worked great the first time. I like that you can have multiple instances to control various Sony TVs.
