Emporia
Signs in to your Emporia account and turns every device into a HomeSeer device: live watts on each named circuit, plug control, voltage, current, energy and cost per circuit. Then it adds what Emporia does not — the demand charge, which rate period you are in, utility holidays, which circuit set your peak, and appliance detection that turns a circuit into a Running/Off sensor. All of it as HomeSeer values, so events can act on your electricity the way they act on anything else.
Main Features
- Live per-circuit watts for every named CT, plus whole-panel Main and unmetered Balance
- Measured current per circuit and line voltage per device
- On/off control for Emporia smart plugs, with live draw
- Energy and cost per device and per circuit, for today and the billing cycle
- Appliance detection: give a circuit two thresholds and it publishes Running or Off, so 'tell me when the laundry is done' is one event
- Demand-charge tracking — the peak hour, what it will cost, and which circuit was drawing when it was set
- Rate period, utility holiday and current rate as devices your events can trigger on
- A rate-plan editor: start from the plan Emporia already has you on, or describe any tariff — periods, seasons, holidays, demand
- Whole Home status in one word: Normal, High usage, Peak demand, Exporting or Offline
- Monitored coverage, largest load now, biggest consumer today, today against yesterday at the same hour
- Projected usage and cost for the billing cycle
- Solar: production, grid import and export, self-consumption, and Excess Solar for soaking up what you would otherwise send back
- EV charger control including charge current as a slider, so a car can charge slowly through peak instead of not at all
- Connected vehicle battery, range, charging state and time to full, asked for rarely so it does not keep the car awake
- Per-circuit history charts, sortable circuits, two-way renaming
Included
- Software License Codes
Requirements
- HomeSeer HS4-Powered System
- Compatible with Windows and Linux
- An Emporia account (email + password), stored encrypted on your HomeSeer machine
- Internet access — Emporia has no local API; every reading and command is a cloud round trip
- New devices are first set up in the Emporia mobile app (Bluetooth), then adopted here
- Demand-charge, solar, EV charger and vehicle features appear only if your account has them
