Easy enough to install. I used the included mounting bracket to bolt the unit to the opener's angle iron supports. Make sure to do the z-wave setup _before_ mounting, since the quick inclusion code won't be visible once it's screwed down. This device replaced an Insteon relay module that died, so I already had a pair of wires soldered onto the new-style programmable pushbutton PCB's relay contacts of my Craftsman-branded Chamberlain opener. So yes, it can be used with the MyQ series with a minor mod -- minor _if_ you or a friend can do basic soldering.
Works fine with Home Assistant. Note: after z-wave inclusion into my Home Assistant system the light and warning sound were both set to "on" and the unit started flashing and sounding continuously until I turned them off in the HA settings page for the newly added device. Turning the light and siren off in the config doesn't stop the "gonna open in 5 seconds" warnings, it just stops them sounding continuously. The siren is loud -- I'd suggest not doing z-wave inclusion while other household members are sleeping!
I have one of these systems and the switch on the door failed within a year. Cannot find a replacement anywhere so the whole thing is dependent on a cheap switch.
The GD00Z does not come with a door switch. It simply wires in parallel with the existing door switch.
My new GD00Z Z Controller works awesome right out of the box (after setup). I use it with Alexa and the Steward App that came with the house. Our new Smart Home came stocked with a few WD100's. I've added this Garage Door Controller and five WD200's. Haven't learned how to get the status of the front and garage doors to light up the LED lights in the five WD200's yet! I'm learning... Any advice on how to set up these switches?
First of all the unit works great, looks very professional and does what I need it to do...now. I took off two stars, the first for the lack of information regarding compatibility with smart Garage Door openers like mine (Craftsman MyQ). I did find a nice workaround to get it to work but lets just say I'm down one Remote as a result. The second star I took off is for the lack of Battery info from the Tilt sensor, just didn't make sense to me. It's nights like last night where I left the garage open until my event ran and closed the door that makes this unit all worth the hassles I had.
I see a LOT of reviews with low stars saying the unit stops working.
If the unit stops working check the BATTERY ON THE TILT SENSOR.
I'm giving it 3 start not 5 only bc the unit should report the battery status of the tilt sensor in HS3! That's a REALLY big issue as if you don't have a backup method to open for door it's a BIG problem when the battery in tilt sensor goes!
