LED Indicator Modes

Does the WS300 require a smart-home hub?

The WS300 works as a regular wall switch without being connected to a Z-Wave system. However, a compatible Z-Wave controller or hub is required to use features such as remote control, automation, multi-tap scenes, LED status notifications, and Z-Wave configuration.

What smart home systems work with the WS300?

The WS300 is compatible with Z-Wave controllers and software. Its advanced features are fully supported by HomeSeer and Home Assistant. Other Z-Wave systems may also support the switch, although support for advanced features such as Central Scene and LED configuration depends on the controller. SmartThings hubs do not support the advanced features of the WS300.

Does the WS300 support Z-Wave Long Range?

Yes. The WS300 uses Z-Wave 800 Series technology and supports Z-Wave Long Range (Z-Wave LR). Z-Wave LR can provide substantially greater range than conventional Z-Wave when supported by the controller and network.

Does the WS300 require a neutral wire?

Yes. A neutral wire is required for installation. The WS300 is designed for 120 VAC / 60 Hz electrical circuits.

Can the WS300 be used in a 3-way circuit?

Yes. The WS300 supports both single-pole and 3-way installations. It can also be used with a standard wall switch as the companion switch.

Can the WS300 control LED bulbs?

Yes. The WS300 is designed to control compatible LED, CFL, incandescent, and other supported loads. The load must remain within the switch's electrical ratings.

What does the LED on the WS300 do?
