It does not work and Homeseer tech support is non-existent. I followed the instructions. The Zigbee dongle does not work
I was not able to use it. It was not clear that it would not work with my HomeTroller Zee 2 V5
Sorry for the confusion. The OS needs to be more up to date in order for Zigbee2MQTT... which is the engine for the Zigbee Plus plugin.
Substantial improvement over the Z-Wave & Zigbee Stick. With the old stick, my Zigbee network was encountering frequent failures and I thought it was the devices. After setting up and configuring the Sonoff dongle, all the problems evaporated. Adding and configuring the Sonoff dongle was relatively easy and painless.
I plugged it in, my computer acknowledged a USB device had been plugged in, went to the Zigbee plugin to configure, and that's as far as it gets.
So I say, WTF! So, I went to Sonoff website - no help there. Then I read through all the reviews here. And the LAST review was the info I needed: It won't work with Windows 7.
I would be fine with that if Homeseer had included that pertinent info on the product page.
I saw this Zigbee dongle on sale on the Homeseer site and decided to give it a try. I had long ago grown tired of constantly having to tinker with my Conbee/Deconz/Jowihue setup to keep it working. Especially after reboots.
I plugged the Sonoff dongle in, installed the Zigbee Plus plugin, and it just worked. No problems at all so far. And as a bonus, this has a much nicer and more capable user interface. Highly recommended!
