For the most part it works, it just seems anytime you use a 3rd party plugin it all doesn't cross over. But what is there works. And now I understand that there will be no more updates made for this plugin. I am using this plugin with HS4.
Using HS4, totally unable to get the plug-in to see my MC66 controller. User Guide is extremely poor, developer support is nonexistent, and beyond leaving out critical information like what port to use to communicate with the controller, misleadingly claims that sources and other functions will be available when it appears (by reading the support forum), that only power toggle will be possible. Since I expressly bought the MC66 because of HTD’s endorsement of Homeseer and the app, I can’t tell you how annoyed this makes me.
I was able to setup a series of events to control all features of the MCA-66. Then a series of Alexa routines to do just about everything to control the MCA-66 with simple voice commands. For example, Alexa, Patio Speakers On. Alexa, Play Sixties. These two turn on the speakers, set the input and plays channel 6 on SiriusXM. One addition would be great. I'd like to create an event to set the volume to a specific level. I have events that can increase and decrease volume.
Installation was a little cumbersome instructions where not clear. Not all of the functions work as I was led to believe. The only thing I am able to do through Alexa is to turn the Power option OFF and ON
The capability to integrate my Home Theater Direct whole home audio system with my HomeSeer automation platform was like icing on the cake of home automation and entertainment. Anyone that has both systems would greatly benefit from this plug-in. The two systems integrated almost seamlessly with just a little time reading the implementation guide and then completing the configuration steps. Kudos to HomeSeer and Ultra developers and engineers!
