Who needs this?
If you have an early model 500 series Z-NET or HomeTroller (with Z-Wave module flashed with SDK 6.51.6) and you wish to upgrade to 800 series, you'll need to upgrade with this first.

In 2024, the Backups made to this board cannot be restored to a Series 700 Z-net, due to an old version of Zwave SDK (pre-6.61). I have found no instructions or help on how to overcome this issue. I have a pending query on the Z-NET forum, but...
Hi Jerry - Sorry you're having trouble upgrading. Our 500 series upgrade kit includes a 500 series (rev E, no barcode) part. This is flashed to Z-Wave SDK 6.81. This version is compatible with the legacy Z-Wave plugin and also the newer Z-Wave Plus plugin. There are a lot of 'moving parts' involved in upgrade to the 800 series Z-NET HAT depending of what HAT type you're starting with. For some folks, they can upgade directly to the 800 series HAT. For others, they have to upgrade to the newer 500 series HAT (what this product is) and then upgrade to the 800 series HAT. Overall it was a good experience because the parts arrived on time and the order was complete.
We received boards that were damaged but they replaced them for us so it ended up being a good experience.
